The Third Harmony invites us to rethink human nature and explore the power of nonviolence: What is nonviolence? How does it work? And how can we put it into practice to transform ourselves and the world around us?
Following the film, Marcos Morales and Allen Johnson will share how these questions come alive through the work of the GRIP Training Institute with incarcerated people in California.
GRIP’s yearlong healing and accountability program draws on restorative justice, mindfulness, trauma-informed practice, and neuroscience. Participants explore the roots of violence, learn to work with strong impulses and emotions, and develop practices of accountability and healing. Graduates go on to become leaders in nonviolence and accountability in their communities, both inside and outside of prison.
Together, we’ll explore what this work can teach us about human nature, our capacity for transformation, and the practice of nonviolence in our own lives and relationships.
We hope you’ll join us.
